Welcome citizens of Fairfield Schools to your live Spark Session! Over the past few weeks team members from FEH Design, School Staff, School Board members, and the community have been working behind the scenes to facilitate this interactive experience.

The Goals for Success were created to guide design decisions and help evaluate design solutions.

  • Provide safe and secure schools/learning environments for students and staff
    1. Strategy: secure entrances, central control point, eliminate or reduce school day exterior movement between buildings, adequate space for safe use.
    2. Strategy: provide cohesive and transparent communication, intercom, messaging, & clock system, internal and external.
    3. Strategy: safe and efficient transportation, shuttle service
  • Manage the School District budget/finances/tax dollars in a sustainable stewardship manner. Longevity

4 Buildings / 4 Campuses Concepts

4 Buildings / 4 Campuses

These concepts keep the four (4) existing campuses in place with additions/renovations and new construction options.

  • 4A – Each of the four (4) buildings has additions and or renovations for space, maintenance, and ADA compliance. All buildings continue as is.
  • 4B – No additions at the two (2) elementary school buildings, only renovations for maintenance and ADA compliance. Addition and renovations for space, maintenance, and ADA compliance at the High School. Build a brand-new Middle School
  • 4C – No additions at the Middle School, High School or Pence Elementary, only renovations for maintenance and ADA compliance. Addition and renovations for space, maintenance, and ADA compliance at Washington Elementary School.

These concepts move Fairfield Schools to a three (3) campus model. Each campus has varying additions/renovations and new construction options. 

  • 3A – Additions and renovations for space, maintenance, and ADA compliance at the Middle School and High School. Build a brand-new Elementary School on a new site. Close and sell the Washington and Pence buildings.
  • 3B – No additions at the Middle School and High School buildings, only renovations for maintenance and ADA compliance. Major Additions and renovations for space, maintenance, and ADA compliance at Pence Elementary. Pence will become the only elementary building housing Pre-k – 4th grade. Close and sell the Washington building.
  • 3C – Additions and renovations for space, maintenance, and ADA compliance at Pence Elementary School. Pence to house Pre-K – 2nd grade students. Additions and renovations for space, maintenance, and ADA compliance at the Middle School. The Middle School building will also become Upper Elementary School housing 3rd -6th grades. Major additions and renovations for space, maintenance, and ADA compliance at the High School. This concept adds a 7th – 8th grade wing onto the building so the High School building houses 7th – 12th grade students.  Close and sell the Washington building.
  • 3D – Additions and renovations for space, maintenance, and ADA compliance at Pence Elementary School. Pence to house 2nd – 6th grade students. Additions and renovations for space, maintenance, and ADA compliance at Washington Elementary School. Washington houses Pre-k – 1st grade students.  Major additions and renovations for space, maintenance, and ADA compliance at the High School. This concept adds a 7th – 8th grade wing onto the building so the High School building houses 7th – 12th grade students.  Close and sell the Middle School building.

These concepts move Fairfield Schools to a two (2) campus with a building on each model. Each campus has varying additions/renovations and new construction options. 

  • 2A – Additions and renovations for space, maintenance, and ADA compliance at the Middle School building/campus. The middle school building becomes the new elementary school building housing Pre-K – 5th grade students.  Major additions and renovations for space, maintenance, and ADA compliance at the High School. This concept adds a 6th – 8th grade wing onto the building so the High School building houses 6th – 12th grade students.  Close and sell the Washington and Pence buildings.
  • 2B – Major additions and renovations for space, maintenance, and ADA compliance at the High School. This concept adds a 6th – 8th grade wing onto the building so the High School building houses 6th – 12th grade students.  Build a brand-new Elementary School on a new site. Close and sell the Washington, Pence, and Middle School buildings.
  • 2C- Major additions and renovations for space, maintenance, and ADA compliance at Pence Elementary School. Pence to house Pre-K – 2nd grade students. Major additions and renovations for space, maintenance, and ADA compliance at the High School. This concept adds a 6th – 8th grade wing onto the building so the High School building houses 7th – 12th grade students.  Close and sell the Middle School Washington buildings.
  • 2D – Major additions and renovations for space, maintenance, and ADA compliance at the High School. The high school building would convert to an elementary and middle school building housing Pre-k – 8th grade students. Build a brand-new High School on a new site. Close and sell the Washington, Pence and the Middle School buildings.
  • 2E – Major additions and renovations for space, maintenance, and ADA compliance at Pence Elementary School. Pence to house Pre-K – 5th grade students. Build a brand-new Middle /High School building on the Middle School site. Demo existing Middle School building. Close and sell the Washington and the High School buildings.

This concept moves Fairfield Schools to a one (1) campus with one building model.

  • 1A – Build a brand-new Pre-K – 12th grade School on the existing Middle School site. This concept requires the purchase of additional/adjacent City and privately owned property. Creating one campus for all school related activities. Close and sell the Washington, Pence, and the High School buildings.

 

Additional 1 Campus Option

These concepts move Fairfield Schools to one (1) campus with multiple buildings. These concepts have varying additions/renovations and new construction options. All these concepts would require the purchase of additional/adjacent property.

  • *1C – Major additions and renovations for space, maintenance, and ADA compliance at the High School. This concept adds a 6th – 8th grade wing onto the building so the High School building houses 7th – 12th grade students.  Build a brand-new Elementary School on a new site adjacent to and connected to the High School site to create one large campus. Close and sell the Middle School, Pence, and Washington buildings.
  • *A1 – Build a new High School, a new Middle School, and a new Elementary School building on the Middle School site. Creating one campus multi-building for all school related activities. This concept requires the purchase of additional/adjacent City and privately owned property.   Close and sell the Washington, Pence, and the High School buildings.
  • *A2 – Build a new High School, a new Middle School, and a new Elementary School building on the Middle School site. Creating one campus multi-building for all school related activities. This concept requires the purchase of additional/adjacent City and privately owned property.  Close and sell the Washington, Pence, and the High School buildings.
